John Welton, Republican Candidate for County Recorder
1912 – Ohio
“The Recorder’s office is conceded to a Civil War Veteran. I was born and raised in Boston township. Sept 1861 at the age of 17, I enlisted and went to the front; was discharged after two enlistments, in May 1865. Operated butter and cheese factories for many years. Have lived at 125 Hall St. for 27 years. Served as Court Bailiff in the Summit County Common Pleas Court two and one half years. If I am nominated and elected you will always find me there attending to my duty, and we’ll part on the square. Your support solicited”
